Where does EU Poultry import its meat from?

We import products from various suppliers who adhere to full EU standards and are monitored by European veterinarians. Our suppliers raise poultry in Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Greece, Ukraine, and Moldova, after which we process it at EU Poultry facilities.

Is the meat imported by EU Poultry subject to the same control as local producers in Slovakia?
The meat imported by EU Poultry is subject to the same rigorous control as that of local producers in Slovakia. We comply with the highest possible standards to guarantee the best product quality and maintain transparency in all our operations, being open to certification inspections. We collaborate with suppliers from Ukraine, Moldova, and other European countries, ensuring all poultry is sourced from EU-certified exporters. This poultry is regularly monitored by DG SANTE, which oversees food standards across Europe.
We purchase poultry from producers who comply with the highest international standards on animal welfare and are committed to the Five Animal Freedoms, ensuring our poultry is free from distress and discomfort.
In 2025, we achieved the BRC AA certification, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to quality and safety.
Is the meat imported by EU Poultry for Slovakian consumers?

About 25 percent of EU Poultry sales are made in the domestic market. 75 percent is exported to EU countries.

Is meat imported from outside Slovakia is as fresh as local?
Our purchase and sales logistics, as well as processing, are really fast. Our products arrive to the marketplace just two days after slaughter.
Due to MAP packaging technology shelf life of our products reach 12 days. Our consumers enjoy really fresh chicken meat.
Can consumers be confident about the origin of the meat they are purchasing?

We are proud to be transparent. We welcome and follow strict EU guidelines, which foresees, that all poultry products are labeled with the country of origin, including the country where the rearing took place. Our consumers can be really confident in the origin of the product.

Does EU Poultry comply with European Union rules on poultry imports?

EU Poultry operates in full compliance with all approved EU regulations governing poultry imports from third countries. Relations between the EU and third countries are regulated by the DCFTA, which allows all parties to benefit from expanded markets and ensures high standards for poultry trade, including the supply of quality chicken meat to EU countries.
